Aging in Place ADU was built from something personal.
The first time our founder really noticed the need was watching his mom have a hard time going up and down the stairs. It was enough to realize how quickly a normal part of a home can become a real risk. At that stage of life, a fall isn’t a small issue, it can change everything.
We noticed how most homes aren’t designed for how people actually live as they get older. Not because anything was done wrong, it just wasn’t part of the original plan.
In California, recent changes have made it significantly easier to build accessory dwelling units (ADUs). That creates a practical opportunity to add living space that’s designed not just for today, but for how it will be used over time.
Over the course of nearly two decades, our team has been involved in more than 300 residential projects, many involving ADUs.
Using that experience along with the relationships we’ve built with local cities and a trusted network of partners, we’ve developed a focused approach to long-term living solutions that moves projects forward with fewer unknowns.
We combine that experience with a personal understanding of the need to guide the decisions that matter, so you can move forward with clarity and create a home that works for you over time.

We help homeowners understand what’s actually possible on their property, design the right solution, and guide the project through planning and permitting.
Our work centers around Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and home solutions designed for long-term living. That might include:

We focus on the decisions that matter early, layout, access, and long-term usability, and what it takes to get approved, so the project moves forward with fewer surprises.

We’ve seen firsthand how small details in a home can make a meaningful difference in safety, comfort, and independence.
That led us to focus on long-term living, planning homes that continue to work as needs change over time.
We combine that perspective with our team’s experience, our relationships with local cities, and a trusted network of partners so you can move through planning and approvals with clarity.
Our approach is simple:

And we treat every project as if we were helping a member of our own family, centered around the specific needs, priorities, and goals of the person in front of us.

We've seen what happens when families are forced to make big decisions in a moment of crisis.A fall. A health event. A sudden change. Those moments are hard enough. They become harder when there wasn't a plan.
We started Aging In Place ADU to change that.
Our mission is to help homeowners plan ahead so they can stay in the home they love, stay connected to the family they care about, and move forward with confidence.
