Where our purpose began
Why this is personal.
For me, aging in place became personal as I watched my mother, Marion, navigate progressive rheumatoid arthritis. I saw how everyday spaces could make life easier or place another obstacle in her way. I wanted her to feel safe, maintain her independence, and stay close to the people and places she loved.
Her experience inspired Aging in Place ADU and the model that carries her name. It shaped a belief I carry into every project: a home should support the person living in it as their needs change. The Marion reflects that purpose and the part she played in bringing it to life.
My hope is to empower people to make the best choices for staying safe, comfortable, and close to their loved ones, creating everyday moments that become lasting memories. We cannot create more time, but we can create more opportunities to spend it with the people who matter to us most.

More possibilities in California
A promising time to build an ADU.
In AARP’s 2024 survey, three in four adults age 50 and older said they wanted to remain in their current homes as they age. We believe more families deserve the opportunity to stay close to the places and people they love.
As California works to address its housing shortage, ADU laws have reduced barriers and opened more possibilities for homeowners to add housing on existing property. Starting January 1, 2027, new laws will expand qualifying ADU options and reduce certain development fees.
Understanding these possibilities is at the forefront of what we do. We help you navigate the information, explore your options, and make informed decisions about your property and your family’s future. Living Well begins with knowing what is possible.
